Canada:
What a great year! Never have there been such a number of Shiloh Shepherd owners and breeders in Canada! When I became involved in 2000, there was only one breeder in the entire country! I’ve been watching this breed grow in popularity, not only at the shows, but in the awareness of our general population. More than once I’ve had someone stop me to ask “is that a Shiloh Shepherd”? And now, through our ISSDC-Canada chapter, we plan to continue to promote our beautiful Shiloh Shepherds in Canada at Canadian sponsored dog shows, training events and ONLINE, as a unified group of “great people with great dogs”! Our Canadian website is almost ready to launch, and we expect to see you visiting us in the chat forums! Don’t be shy.

We are VERY proud of our dogs that championed in 2005. We applaud their owners for their efforts in the show ring, and for their belief that the Shiloh Shepherd SHOULD be Number One wherever they go! So many great Canadian Shilohs have earned their Championships in 2005, in addition to attaining numerous working and obedience titles too. Big Congrats to ALL of them!

Meeka, Carter and Elke also earned their HIC herding titles this fall, with Elke also earning her Pre-Companion Dog obedience title!

These eight dogs join Chain and Sarge in the ranking of Canuck Shilohs with their Canadian Championship titles. And of course a special note to American Shiloh Zoey who earned her Canadian Championship earlier this year too. Many of these Shilohs will now begin to focus on the completion of their Canadian Grand Championships. And in addition to these new champions, many young Shilohs are now championship pointed and poised to earn their titles in 2006.

What a better way to end the 2005 show season, than by hosting our very first ISSDC-Canada Specialty this past October! You can believe it’s only going to get bigger and better from here, and we offer our gracious THANKS to Roy, Linda, and the entire RBCSWO organization. We’re already planning some special events for the March 2006 Sportsmen’s Show. We’re hoping this upcoming big show will present the largest number of Shiloh Shepherd entries in Canada, EVER! Does this country love Shiloh’s? Huh? Huh!

We’ve had a few new members join us recently from another ‘camp’, and we welcome you with all our hearts and humility. A lot of us have “been there”, and we know how disorienting the transition can be. Please know that we all hope to enjoy your friendship at the shows and your welcome participation in the ISSDC-Canada chapter.

And with winter coming on, there’s bound to be much indoor time that we can all dedicate to the building of this awesome club! If there is any particular skill you have that you’d like to contribute to our group, we’d LOVE to hear from you. If you’re willing to help us on any level, this will only lead to a bigger and better team. And after all, our Shiloh Shepherds deserve it!
