Canada:
With the April showers finally coming to an end, May marked not only the return of flowers, but also the beginning of the outdoor show season in Canada with the RBCSWO at Tillsonburg, Ontario.

Tillsonburg was a newly added show to the RBCSWO circuit and operated in conjunction with a CKC event. The show combined an indoor show venue, with ample outdoor areas to setup and socialize. As is customary at the Canadian shows, an outdoor tent complete with BBQs and music was set up to provide a break from ringside and served as an outdoor “hang out”

Although the show attendance numbers were relatively small, being the first time on the schedule, the Shilohs were well respresented with over 25% of the entire show’s entries. The turnout proving again that ISSDC Shiloh’s are a strong supporting group of the RBCSWO, and of course that Canadian Shiloh owners LOVE to socialize.

For some young Shiloh’s this event marked their show debut (eg Magnus and Cadence), for others (Mace) it was a very memorable weekend with his first Best of Breed at just seven months old, and for Carey & Aquilo (who came up from the US) it marked his first “Best in Show” along with the completion of his Canadian Championship. These were just some of the highlights, all the Shiloh’s in attendance showed very well and did the ISSDC proud.

The Canadian Shiloh’s recently did us proud, with both the NSBR and SSBA Top Puppy award going to a Canadian Shiloh, two Canuck Shiloh’s in the NSBR Top Dog placements, the SSBA GV award, and three SSBA National Select awards.

The next RBCSWO show is scheduled for Caledonia (moved to Binbrook due to protestors in Caledonia).

Finally, it’s litters aplenty in Canada! Currently on the ground are pups with Genesis Shiloh’s in Ontario (two litters) and Miracle Shiloh’s in PEI (two litters).

Pacific Northwest:
We are currently working on our membership application and forming our egroup. Since our territory covers such a vast area, we are looking into virtual options to bring us closer together.

SouthEast:
May 6th was a day full of learning. We started off with some good old fashioned socialization time with our dogs. Next we had a clinic on Dog Handling from Wendy Fullerton and Gloria Setterlund. We even had a mini dog show judged by Wendy! After a great lunch and more socialization time, Erica Pytlovany did a clinic on Clicker Training. It was a great way to spend a beautiful day full with many friends. Thanks to all how came and participated.

There was a reason we did the dog handling clinic in May…June 24th we are sponsoring our first annual ISSDC-SE & NCA Shiloh Shepherd show! We will have two shows back to back starting at 1pm on Saturday, June 24th. Registration starts at 11am. We will be sending out information to everyone who is an ISSDC member in late May.

For more information, contact us at 410-544-1384 (Heather) or email us at oconnor_h@msn.com.
