Canada:
With January 1st marking the start of the new year, so holds true with the ISSDC-Canada planning for what will likely be the biggest year yet for Shilohs in Canada.

2005 was extremely special as it marked the unification of many Shiloh owners in Canada with Atlantic Sable Shilohs (Jayne), Genesis Shilohs (Michelle), Shilohs of Kai-Lyn (Virginia), Keystone Shilohs (Cher), Shadowgate Farms (Cher), and Shamrock Shilohs (Ken) joining forces with the existing non-ISSR members up here north of the 49th Parallel. These folks, along with their buyers/litter owners, that made the leap over to the ISSDC have solidified the strength and unity of the shiloh breeders/owners in Canada with almost every breeder in Canada now being a member of an ISSDC affiliated registry!

Our Canadian group currently consists of Bold Shilohs, Kellisa Shilohs, Miracle Shilohs, Regal Shilohs, Whisperwood Shilohs, Atlantic Sable Shilohs, Genesis Shilohs, Shilohs of Kai-Lyn, Keystone Shilohs, Shadowgate Farms and Shamrock Shilohs! Not a bad line-up north of the border, eh?

Plans for the ISSDC Canada are quite large for 2006. The first order of business is to have the website and forums completed. We were unfortunately delayed from the initial launch schedule due to time constraints and resources, but plans to be completed and ready shortly. The second order, which is already underway, is to orchestrate the Second ISSDC Canada sponsored/organized Shiloh Shepherd Specialty & Parade of Champions at that RBCSWO event at the 2006 Toronto Sportsman Show (March 18-19).

After the huge success of the 2005 Specialty in October at the RBCSWO show in Brampton, the 2006 Sportsmen’s Show should shatter any previous Shiloh attendance record in Canada! The 2005 Sportsmen’s Show had more Shilohs in attendance than any other breed with almost 30 showing! This year, it is possible that those numbers could jump to 40 or more! For those unaware, the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show is the premiere RBCSWO event with literally thousands of visitors in attendance. The Specialty has been confirmed for the morning of Sunday, March 19th. Stay tuned for more registration details, and other hotel/event information for out of town visitors.

The 2006 Canadian show season should be a lot of fun for those in attendance. With a large number of Canadian Shilohs now with their Canadian Championship titles, and some really great up and coming young Shilohs starting their own quest, the quality being displayed to the Canadian public should be phenomenal! Outdoor BBQs, music, and socializing, are all integral parts of the Canadian show scene. We encourage everyone to come out and join in the fun. Sharing the hot summer weekends and the mutual love for the Shilohs has created some wonderful friendships and some lasting memories.

Canadian events are tentatively planned for The Toronto Sportsmen’s Show (March 18-19), Caledonia (June 3-4), Woodstock (July 8-9), Bradford - Canadian Molosser Association "All Breed Show" (August 5-6), Petrolia (September 9-10),and Brampton - with another Specialty (October 21-22).

New owners are strongly encouraged to come out and join us. There are lots of folks who will help you show your dog in the ring, offer tips, and extend a warm Canadian welcome. Showing is a great opportunity to Champion your Shiloh and experience some special moments with your fur kid.

SouthEast:
Well, we're up and running!! As of January 1st, 2006 we had 26 members on the egroup! We're gathering up Shiloh folks from all over the east. I'm really excited to see all the names we have already. Welcome to all of you who have joined already!!!

Heather and I have been putting some events and dates together so we can try to stay busy throughout the year with loads of Shiloh things to do. Obedience, Rally-O, therapy, conformation, parties, and health clinics are just a few of the things we have planned.

I hope everyone who's interested will join early so we can count you in on the planning. We won't ask for dues so anyone who can pitch in will be greatly appreciated.

Please join our egroup for ISSDC/SE. If you're not very close and would like to get together with others in your area to start your own chapter, you're welcome to join us and get some ideas.
